Titanium Dice
The Story:
I led the industrial design of the Titanium Dice, a premium lifestyle offering that marked The James Brand’s expansion into the gifting space. Designed to highlight the brand’s precision milling capabilities, the Ti Dice balances playful utility with refined craftsmanship. From form exploration to final production, I focused on proportion, edge definition, and material expressio leveraging CNC-machined titanium to create a tactile, design-forward object.
The challenge:
A key challenge in designing the Titanium Dice was striking the right balance between playfulness and precision creating an object that felt both elevated and approachable. As The James Brand's first foray into the gifting space, the product needed to reflect the brand’s core identity while standing apart from its typical EDC lineup. I set out to create a form that felt intentional in the hand, obsessing over subtle edge breaks, weight distribution, and scale to ensure it felt satisfying to hold and roll. The goal was to showcase our CNC capabilities without over-designing letting the material and machining speak for themselves through restrained, confident detailing.
